West Bengal: Uttarpara plant to manufacture 80 Vande Bharat trains over 6 years
The major portions of 80 sleeper-class Vande Bharat trains will be manufactured at the Uttarpara plant of Titagarh Wagons Limited (TWL), about 15km from Kolkata, after a consortium of the Bengal-headquartered TWL and the PSU Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) on Tuesday bagged a Rs 24,000-crore order to supply and maintain the trains.
