Vigilance names 2 private agents in RTA bribery caseThe vigilance bureau in Ludhiana, Punjab, nominated two private agents to help with an investigation into a case involving a regional transport authority employee, Narinder Singh Dhaliwal. Dhaliwal was arrested on Saturday, and he is currently in custody. The agents nominated by the vigilance bureau are still unidentified, as they have not yet been arrested. Dhaliwal was produced in court on Saturday, and he was remanded in custody for three days. The investigation into the case has revealed that Dhaliwal was collecting bribes from transporters on a monthly basis in return for not challenging their vehicles. The complainant, Satnam Singh Dhawan, submitted an online complaint against Dhaliwal with video clips of Punjab Home Guards and a volunteer with the regional transport authority. The investigation also found that Dhaliwal had received a bribe of Rs. 4 lakh in December, of which he used Rs. 17,000 for himself. The remaining Rs. 23,000 was handed over to the volunteer.
