Dhaliwal was produced in court on Saturday, and he was remanded in custody for three days. The investigation into the case has revealed that Dhaliwal was collecting bribes from transporters on a monthly basis in return for not challenging their vehicles. The complainant, Satnam Singh Dhawan, submitted an online complaint against Dhaliwal with video clips of Punjab Home Guards and a volunteer with the regional transport authority. The investigation also found that Dhaliwal had received a bribe of Rs. 4 lakh in December, of which he used Rs. 17,000 for himself. The remaining Rs. 23,000 was handed over to the volunteer.
