Teachers hail govt move on winter breakThe city government in Ludhiana has decided to extend winter holidays for students from classes nursery to vii. The teachers in the city have praised this move, but the students from class viii onwards have to attend school from january 9 onwards. Meanwhile, schools have switched to online classes to prevent any academic loss. Shilpi Gurtu, the principal of Ryan International School, said that they started the winter vacations as per government orders from December 24, but the school has started with online classes for four hours from January 2. However, some teachers have also requested the government to not further increase the winter break, as it would cause academic loss.
