Pune: Heavy vehicles’ entry banned on canal road in Sinhagad Road area
To ease traffic congestion on Sinhagad Road in Pune, traffic police have restricted heavy vehicles from plying on the parallel canal road. One-ways are also being considered for narrow stretches in the area. Commuters have complained about frequent traffic snarls due to ongoing flyover work, which has reduced the carriageway. The traffic police are also urged to take action against wrong-side driving and install boards to create awareness about one-way traffic. Additional manpower has been deployed at junctions to manage traffic during rush hours. The civic body is requested to clear encroachments to streamline vehicular flow.
