Pune: Auditor loses Rs 24.8L in online crypto fraud
A 68-year-old auditor from Sahakarnagar lost Rs 24.8 lakh to fraudsters posing as Bitcoin traders. The victim accepted a friend request from an unknown person on social media, who then lured him into investing in the digital currency. The fraudsters shared videos and documents to gain his trust. The victim transferred money to the fraudsters' e-wallet and bank accounts but never received any returns. Despite multiple emails, the fraudsters did not respond. The police are investigating the case and have urged investors to use trusted platforms for cryptocurrency investments.
