MP Arora asks NHAI chief to speed up road projectsLudhiana industrialist and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora met National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) Chairman Santosh Kumar Yadav in Delhi to discuss various issues related to pending road projects in Ludhiana and Punjab. After meeting Yadav, Arora informed that "Ludhiana being one of the biggest industrial cities in the country with over five million population, the traffic situation here is getting chaotic day by day due to pending road projects. I met the chairman of NHAI and drew his attention towards the inconvenience faced by the public and commuters in Ludhiana due to the pending projects. He informed that he took up various issues, including the pending work at Sherpur bypass and four bridges across Sidhwan Canal towards the south city. Talking about the traffic caused due to these incomplete projects, he said, "The projects are causing traffic snarls and the situation has become nothing less than a nightmare for commuters because the works are going on in almost all major areas, frequent and long traffic jams are making citizens lose their temper as it takes long to commute between office and home. Arora added that the chairman assured him that the projects would be completed on time."
