Licences for automatic vehicle testing stations to be allotted from Nov 1
The state transport department in Noida will start accepting applications for automatic vehicle testing stations from November 1. These stations will use mechanical equipment to automate vehicle fitness tests, making the process more efficient and transparent. The stations will focus on assessing safety and fitness, including checks for emissions, brakes, and suspension. The automation will enable faster inspections, reducing waiting times for vehicle owners. Each station will have two lanes for light and heavy vehicles. The move is in line with the government's mandate to have automatic testing stations for heavy goods and passenger vehicles by October 2024.
