₹68 lakh stolen from parked carSome unidentified miscreant allegedly stole Rs 68 lakh cash from a car parked near Samrala Chowk on Wednesday night. The man who was driving the car had gone out to collect more cash when the incident occurred, and after finding the cash missing, he called up the police. Gurpreet Singh, the driver of a Chandigarh-based steel industrialist, said he had come to Ludhiana to collect cash on Wednesday. He had collected Rs 68 lakh cash which he was supposed to take back to Chandigarh. He stopped the car at Samrala Chowk and went out to collect cash from a scrap dealer. The office was in a narrow lane, which prevented him from taking the car inside. ACP Central Ramandeep Singh Bhullar said the police were scanning the CCTV cameras installed near the spot, and further probe was on.
