Herd of elephants destroys harvested paddy crop
A herd of wild jumbos on a rampage left a farmer in Kurchi village in Srimangala hobli in South Kodagu clutching heaps - 37 bags, to be precise - of despair. Ajjamada Ravi Changappa, and his wife, Beena, had been closely guarding their paddy field day-and-night lest it be damaged by wild animals. However, against a herd of mighty elephants that trampled the field on Tuesday, the couple was helpless, and the destruction of 37 bags of paddy has understandably left Changappa and Beena dismayed.
