Gold, silver theft at jewellery storeA group of burglars drilled a hole into the wall of a jewellery shop in Ludhiana, Punjab, India on Wednesday night and made their escape with gold and silver. The owner of the shop said that he incurred a loss of Rs 60 lakh (US$1,000). The owner of Kamola Jewelers said that on Thursday at around 7am he came to the shop to find it ransacked. There was a hole in the wall from which the burglars entered the shop, and the jewellery was kept in a safe which the accused opened using a gas cutter. The accused also took the dvr. The accused also left the gas cutter and a few iron rods which they used to drill the hole. The police scanned cctvs installed near the shop in which a few suspects are seen escaping at around 1230am.
