District admin to acquire 531 hectares of land for Pune ring road
The district administration in Pune, India, plans to use the Land Acquisition Act, 2013, to acquire 531 hectares of land from 15 villages for the Pune ring road project. A total of 721 hectares will be acquired in total, with 26% already acquired with consent from villagers. The remaining 76% will be acquired through compulsory land acquisition, and the district administration will soon announce revised rates for the process. Notices will be issued to villagers, and if they resist, police assistance will be used to acquire the land.
