CM Basavaraj Bommai sanctions Rs 5 crore towards repair of Masagodu-Kanive road
Taking cognisance of a longstanding demand from the people of Kodagu, chief minister Basavaraj Bommai has sanctioned Rs 5 crore towards the development of Masagodu-Kanive Road, which connects the hilly district with neighbouring Hassan. The residents of Kodagu have been demanding the development of the 18-kilometre road, even staging a demonstration to protest the poor condition of the thoroughfare. Kodagu MLA Appachu Ranjan subsequently drew the CM's attention to the plight of the road during the ongoing legislature session in Belagavi, and the latter responded by disbursing a sum of Rs 5 crore towards the repair of the arterial road connecting two districts in the Old Mysore region.
