Air pollution in Delhi-NCR: No licence to sell crackers in any form in Noida, Ghaziabad
Police in Ghaziabad and Noida will not issue any licenses to sell firecrackers, including green crackers, before Diwali this year. Permission to sell and burn green crackers can only be given if the air quality index (AQI) forecast falls below 200, which is rare during this time of year due to pollution levels. Delhi has banned all forms of crackers, while Haryana has allowed green crackers during specific time windows. Ghaziabad and Noida have also prohibited the sale of firecrackers. However, if pollution levels are low, there may be a window to burst green crackers on Diwali day.
