358 fresh cases reported in BMC areas last week
A surge in dengue cases has been reported in the Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation (BMC) areas of Salt Lake and Rajarhat-Gopalpur, with 358 new infections in the past week. Since January, a total of 1,391 people have been affected in the BMC areas. Each ward is reporting around eight to ten cases on average daily, with the highest number of cases in wards 5, 6, 12, 26, 27, 30, 31, and 41. However, no dengue deaths have been reported so far this year. Last year, a similar surge occurred in September and peaked in October.
