Woman ends life, paramour bookedA man and his wife have been booked for abetting the suicide of a woman after she allegedly had an illicit relationship with the man and shared pictures of the relationship with the man's wife. The woman's youngest daughter got married in 2005 and the couple had two children. The complainant alleged that the man "made" an illicit relationship with her daughter without her consent and clicked her objectionable photographs. The wife of the man allegedly shared the photographs on the man's son-in-law's mobile phones. The complainant alleged that when her son-in-law asked her daughter about the pictures, she left home on December 24. The woman's body was found floating in a canal near qila hakima close to dhuri in sangrur district. The complainant alleged that the man had been blackmailing her daughter due to which she ended her life by jumping into the canal. After she came to know about it, she informed police. Police officials from sadar khanna police station started a probe into the matter and later booked the man under section 306 abetment to suicide of IPC and relevant sections of the Information Technology Act. DSP William Jeji said they are investigating the matter.
