WB: 86.6% pass Madhyamik despite 2 yrs of pandemic scars
As many as 86.6% examinees passed the Madhyamik examination this year, in results declared on Friday. But the true meaning of this achievement - while only a shade higher than the 86.3% of 2020 - can only be understood in perspective. What the cold numbers do not indicate is that the slight decimal-point rise in this year's results came despite two years of Covid disruptions. The pre-pandemic world of 2020, when that year's Madhyamik was held, was vastly different.
