Uttar Pradesh: UIDAI’s fingerprint software helps reunite speech-impaired girl with family in Punjab
The girl, Manu, who was found wandering at Central railway station, was rescued by Child Helpline on February 1, 2020. After confirming she was alone, its volunteers shifted her to a government shelter home where she spent nearly two years. On January 23, 2022, she was taken for Aadhaar enrolment, where she provided her fingerprints. But, the software rejected her fingerprint as an Aadhaar with a similar fingerprint existed in Ludhiana’s Ram Nagar in one Reshmi’s name.
