Three names shortlisted for UoM VC’s post
A four-member search committee led by MS Shivakumar has recommended three names for the post of Vice Chancellor of the University of Mysore. The search committee met on Tuesday and forwarded the names in a sealed cover to the state government. Shivakumar is a former Registrar of the Visvesvaraya Technological University and held the meeting at Bengaluru. Sources say that three names were shortlisted in the meeting and that the state government is likely to forward one of the names to the Governor for the appointment of the new Vice Chancellor. Seventy-one applications were received for the post of Vice Chancellor, two applications were rejected as they were received after the due date, and some applications were rejected as the applicant had pending inquiries against them. The post is vacant since November 15th after GHemantha Kumar demitted office HR Rajashekar is serving as the Incharge Vice Chancellor.
