Textile park: Plan well & take stakeholders along in Punjab
After succumbing to the genuine protests of environmental groups against setting up of a textile park near Mattewara Reserve Forest which is also in proximity to Satluj river, the Punjab government has now offered 1,000 acres of land in Fatehgarh Sahib district to set up the park under PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel Parks (PM MITRA) scheme. The proposal has been sent to the Union textile minister.
