Teams for Covid-19 surveillance should be strengthened, says DM
The district magistrate Vishak G Iyer met with the officials concerned and directed them to activate the integrated Covid command center in the district, as well as to send all Covid positive samples for whole genome sequencing. He also directed the teams formed for surveillance of Covid19 in all urban and rural areas to be strengthened, and made active. The district magistrate directed the chief medical officer that availability of necessary equipment, especially ventilators, concentrators, and oxygen plants, logistics medicines, and human resources should be ensured to make Covid hospitals functional promptly. The director of airport regional management, roadways, and station superintendent railways were also directed to ensure the Covid screening and testing for passengers at airport, bus stations, and railway stations, as per the guidelines issued by the government of India from time to time. The municipal commissioner of the municipal corporation was directed to resensitize the monitoring committees constituted in the urban areas. Appropriate behavior and use of masks should be ensured in all government and private hospitals.
