Taskforce for leopard attacksThe chief minister of India, Basavaraj Bommai, said on Friday that the state government will set up a permanent taskforce to tackle leopard attacks. The taskforce will work like the election taskforce, and Bommai will extend funds and men and machinery to the leopard taskforce. He also said that he has directed the forest department to partner with villagers living on the forest fringes where leopard attack or sighting is more and enlist their support to nab the big cats. It is important to build their confidence to handle the situations, he said.
