Senior citizen duped of Rs 1.3L in debit card swap fraud
A 61-year-old man in Pune lost Rs1.3 lakh to fraudsters who swapped his debit card at an ATM kiosk. The incident occurred on April 14 and 15, and this is the third such incident in the area. The victim filed a complaint and a case was filed with the police. The fraudsters pretended to help him when the ATM didn't dispense cash, but they replaced his card with a non-functional one and fled. They used the victim's card to withdraw Rs 40,000 and make purchases worth Rs 90,000. The police are investigating and hope to make an arrest soon.
