Rocky situation: Boulders cause hurdle on Pune-Lonavla rail track
In the early morning hours, boulders fell on the Pune-Lonavla rail track between Monkey Hill and Amrutanjan Bridge, partially disrupting train movements. Rail authorities reported that the incident occurred around 1am, leading to two blocks between 1.40am and 2.30am to clear the tracks. The Mahalaxmi Express was briefly halted. However, normal operations resumed, and a close watch is being maintained. The ghat areas near Pune have experienced heavy rainfall, making them prone to landslides. Measures, including 24/7 monitoring during monsoons, are being implemented to control such incidents, according to railway officials.
