R-Day celebrated at various places with patriotic fervour
On Thursday, the citizens of Kanpur celebrated the 74th Republic Day with patriotic fervor. District Commissioner Raj Shekhar hoisted the tricolour at his office, and greeted all the citizens. He asked his subordinates to discharge their duties according to the expectations of the public, and work according to the responsibility assigned to them under the provisions of the Indian Constitution. Officers and employees present on the occasion were administered the oath. District Magistrate Vishak G Iyer hoisted the national flag at the collectorate, and paid floral tributes at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi installed in the collectorate premises. He felicitated the relatives of the freedom fighters on the occasion. Adm City Atul Kumar, Adm Finance and Revenue Rajesh Kumar, Land Acquisition Satyendra Kumar, and other officers and employees were present at the function. Additional District Judge Vikas Goyal first wishing Republic Day said that with the cooperation of advocates, disputes are being resolved at a faster pace.
