Pune: Trio thrash & abduct two pupils, extort Rs 50,000
The Alankar police have arrested three men for abducting two students from Spencer Chowk in Karvenagar, assaulting them, and extorting Rs50,000 from the victims and their two other friends through UPI money transfer - all after sending a video clip of the assault to the latter's friends, during the night intervening between Tuesday and Wednesday. One of the arrested trio even tried to make out a case of gold chain theft against the victims, but the police called his bluff.
