Pune teacher loses 8L to man she met on matrimonial site
The Kondhwa police are investigating a 33-year-old private school teacher’s complaint stating she was duped of Rs8.1 lakh by a man she met on a matrimonial site after she had enrolled herself earlier this year to find a suitable partner. “The woman, a widow, who was convinced by her family to go for a second marriage, had enrolled her name with the site after which she started getting proposals and selected a man who claimed was based in London,” said assistant inspector Sandip Madhale on Friday. Madhale said, “She established contact with the man and they started communicating with each other, she told the police. In February, the man told her that he was coming to Pune to visit her”.
