Pune: Retail tomato prices shoot up from Rs 15 to Rs 50 a kg
Tomatoes, the next basic ingredient for cooking after onions in most kitchens, were selling at Rs 50 to Rs 70 per kg on Monday from Rs 15 to Rs 30 in the last three weeks in retail markets. Good quality tomatoes that are round and a deep red sell at a high price, traders said.
