Pune: Rain in catchments prompts water discharge from three reservoirs
The catchment areas of most dams in Pune have received good rainfall, resulting in the discharge of water. The Bhatghar dam is at full capacity and water is being released from all gates. The water stock in Panshet and Varasgaon has returned to 100%. The collective storage in the four dams in Khadakwasla circle is at 27.3TMC. The state irrigation department has also released water from Varasgaon and Panshet in Khadakwasla dam. More rainfall is expected in the coming days to fill the dams to their full capacity.
