Official-contractor nexus? YEIDA to probe civil, electrical work tenders issued since April last yr
The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) in Noida will investigate tenders issued for civil and electrical work in residential and industrial sectors from April 1, 2022. This decision comes after allegations of officials favoring contractors out of turn. The CEO of YEIDA has instructed three additional CEOs to review the tenders and investigate potential collusion and violations of rules. Officials found negligent may face departmental action and FIRs, while contractors involved may be blacklisted. The CEO has also ordered spot checks to verify the quality of work and seeks to prevent irregularities in the future.
