NMC plans multi-level parking at Ravikar Karanja
The civic body in Nashik is planning to build a multilevel parking at Yashwant Mandai near Ravivar Karanja on a public private partnership model. A top official from Nashik Municipal Corporation told the newspaper that the public works department had been instructed to prepare a proposal for constructing the multilevel parking. Once the model code of conduct for the graduate constituency poll is lifted, an expression of interest for the multilevel parking through a PPP model will be floated. The NMSCDCL had proposed a mechanical parking project at two locations in the city - near Sita Gumpha in Panchavati and at Yashwant Mandai near Ravivar Karanja - on a PPP basis, but did not receive good response. Finally, the project was delayed and the smart city corporation had decided against implementing the project later. It was decided that the NMC would take care of the parking project. Ravivar Karanja is one of the major market areas of the city and witnesses huge rush of vehicles on a daily basis. The NMC needs to take immediate measures to provide parking facilities so that people do not park their vehicles on the roads.
