Meeting held with observers for UP Legislative Council pollA meeting was held on Tuesday in the presence of Saurabh Babu and Balkar Singh, observers of the Kanpur graduate and teachers constituencies, with the district election officer, district magistrate Vishak G Iyer. He informed the attendees that 100 polling stations have been set up in the Kanpur graduates constituency and 63 polling stations in the teachers’ constituency in the district. He said that the constituency has been divided into 11 zones and 30 sectors. He added that the training of all zone sector magistrates and microobservers has been completed, and arrangements have been made for the vehicles to dispatch polling parties with video recording being done at all the polling venues. He said that a strong room has been made in the iti pandu nagar from where departure and return of polling parties will be done. He said that counting of votes will be completed at that level only. The observers were instructed in the meeting to check preparations for polling at every level and in a time bound manner so that the elections could be conducted in a fair, transparent, and safe manner. The voting for the graduates and teachers constituencies will be held on January 30 between 8 am and 4 pm.
