Man buys mobile in friend’s name; is bookedA Ludhiana resident has been booked for cheating his friend by financing a mobile worth Rs. 63000 in his name without his knowledge. The case was filed after a long inquiry. The accused has been identified as Rohan Kumar of Sant Nagar Haibowal who works in the finance department of a mobile brand. The victim, Mukesh Kumar 40 of Joshi Nagar Haibowal, stated that the accused was his friend for the past 15 years. Mukesh had got a mobile financed from the accused days later. The accused said that Mukesh would receive a cash back of Rs. 2000 in his ewallet on the pretext of checking the cashback. Rohan got hold of his mobile from him which he used for about 20 minutes before returning. Mukesh in his complaint added that days later he received a message that a mobile worth Rs. 63189 had been financed using his account. He also found that the mobile financed under his name was delivered in Sant Nagar. The victim lodged a complaint with the police on April 23, 2022 after which an inquiry was marked.
