Make CC must for flat registration: KMC
A mayor in Kolkata, India is receiving complaints from residents about builders quitting a housing project without applying for a completion certificate. The mayor is working with the municipal commissioner to ensure that no flat is allowed to be registered until the developer gets a completion certificate. If the developer does not apply for a completion certificate, the onus of getting water and drainage connections for the buildings falls to the residents and the flat owners. The mayor also talked to a resident who wanted to register a complaint against a real estate developer. The municipal commissioner assured the caller that the municipal commissioner would take up the matter with the state registration officials and the kmc buildings department would hold the licensed buildings surveyors or the architects if any developer left a housing project midway without applying for a cc.
