Leopard, suspected to have killed boy, trapped in Karnataka
A five-year-old leopard was captured from a village in T Narasipura taluk on Thursday. The leopard has been shifted to Mysuru Zoo to collect its blood samples to ascertain if it is the big cat that killed 11-year-old Jayant D on Saturday night. The animal was nabbed using the tumakuru cage. Officials said that from camera trap visuals it looks like the leopard that killed the boy. Chief Conservator of Forests, Mysuru Circle, Malathi Priya M said the leopard entered the cage at 227am. "Around 530am our staff came to know about it. The cage was kept near the spot where the leopard had attacked the boy." She said the blood samples will be collected for DNA analysis and sent to Hyderabad later. The leopard will be sent to the Bannerghatta Biological Park in Bengaluru later.
