Kuruba protesters block minister at agitation spot Members of the Kuruba community in Belagavi gheraoed Minister of Municipal Administration Nagaraj on Tuesday after his speech. They refused to let him leave until they got assurance from another minister on St. Reservation for the community from the government. Members of the Karnataka Pradesh Kuruba Sangh and Gonda Kuruba Sangh organized a protest at Kondaskopp near Suvarna Vidhana Soudha on Tuesday addressing the protesters Minister Nagaraj said the agitators had his complete support in their fight for St. Reservation and assured that he would raise the issue in the assembly. He called upon community members to go for a collective leadership irrespective of parties or leaders while he was returning to the SVs after his speech. The agitators blocked him and did not let him leave till they got an assurance back. They demanded CM Basavaraj Bommai or Social Welfare Minister Kota Srinivas Pujari visit the protest spot. Minister Kota Srinivas Pujari arrived and assured the protestors he would let the government know about the community's demand.
