India faces drought in 125 districts as per SPEI data by IMD, Pune, impacting agriculture and water resources. States like Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu affected. El Nino effect observed in some districts.
