In Karnataka, Multi-village water schemes planned for coastal districts
The minister of energy in Dakshina Kannada district, Sunil Kumar, spoke about an action plan to provide access to potable drinking water to 1,000 families in the district through the Jal Jeevan Mission. The project will be implemented in three phases and has been sanctioned Rs 92 crore. The minister also spoke about the energy sector, mentioning that the department has planned to set up a 3311 kv electricity sub station at Shirthadi in Moodbidriceremony in Udupiat. He called upon people to strive for unity and harmony in society, and said that there are a few organizations that function only to destabilize the nation's peace and harmony. The government has been efficiently thwarting their efforts. The minister also spoke about the proposed waterways from Hangarakatte to Manipal to be taken up under the Sagar Mala Project. The project has been approved in principle and is estimated to cost Rs 25 crore.
