In Bengaluru, baptised Sikh girl attends class with turban, no questions asked
The 17-year-old baptised Sikh girl, who was asked to remove her turban by a Bengaluru college earlier this month, attended her college on Thursday without facing any questions or issues. Meanwhile, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has written to Karnataka chief minister Basavaraj S Bommai, calling it an attack on religious freedom of Sikhs and also demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s intervention in the matter so that necessary instructions are given to every state to uphold the religious freedom of the people.
