Full-day classes on Saturdays in Dakshina Kannada
The department of public instruction has decided to conduct full-day classes on Saturdays, for 16 weeks, starting from August 6, to compensate for school holidays announced due to heavy rain in Dakshina Kannada, said K Sudhakar, DDPI, Dakshina Kannada. The Dakshina Kannada district administration had declared holidays for all schools in the district, in June and July, for several days. Except for Sullia taluk, the majority of the taluks have given about eight days of holidays to date, in total. Sullia taluk declared more than 12 holidays, as it was the worst affected by rain.
