DC opens Miyawaki Forest Project in cityDeputy Commissioner Surabhi Malik inaugurated a Miyawaki Forest Project in Ludhiana on Friday. The project has been supported by the district administration and Prime Steels Processors, and aims to make Ludhiana green and reduce environmental pollution. 8200 trees were planted under the drive. Deputy Commissioner Surabhi Malik said that the Japanese technique of Miyawaki Forestation is adopted for this project, which ensures denser growth of plants and better absorption of carbon dioxide. She said that such a mini forest would be a milestone in reducing greenhouse gases and making the environment healthier. The public is urged to plant saplings and make efforts to protect the environment.
