City's air quality turns 'poor', Noida ramps up dust checks
The air quality in Noida deteriorated to 'poor' on Wednesday, with similar trends seen in other NCR cities. Experts credited slightly higher wind speeds for preventing even worse pollution levels. Inspections at construction sites and garbage dumps resulted in fines totaling Rs 1.9 lakh against 11 violators. Measures under the second phase of the Graded Response Action Plan are currently in effect, including sprinkling water on roads and encouraging the use of public transport.
