Cases surge, Kolkata's pvt hosps bring back Covid wards
Even as Bengal recorded 745 new Covid cases on Thursday - the highest single-day spike since January 21 when the state had clocked 406 cases - private hospitals in Kolkata rushed to bring back Covid wards that had been opened up for non-Covid patients since the third wave ebbed in February. Four private hospitals reintroduced exclusive Covid units on Thursday and at least three other facilities are on the verge of reopening their Covid wards.
