Academic Council approves DU proposal: Students can now pursue two degrees simultaneously
Delhi University's academic council approved the proposal allowing students to study two academic programmes simultaneously. The decision was made during a meeting, and the final approval will be given by the Executive council. The university plans to offer dual degrees through regular and distance learning. However, some members of the academic council opposed the resolution, expressing concerns about the dilution of degrees and compromising the quality of education. The proposal is in line with the National Education Policy 2020's provisions for joint degree programmes.
