400 more green buses to hit Kolkata streets by December
The state transport department and urban development minister Firhad Hakim have said that the state government was working on plans to introduce more electric and battery-run buses in the city. Also, all existing fuel-run buses will be converted into electric or battery-run buses in a phased manner, and electric vehicle (EV) charging stations are being planned across the city. Several of the old tram depots will be converted into EV charging hubs as well.
