2 men arrested with arms, drugsTwo men in Ludhiana, Punjab, India have been arrested with arms and ammunition, drugs, and drug money. The men, identified as Amandeep Singh Romi, 30, and Gurpreet Singh, 26, were arrested on January 25th after a team of CIA2 (Central Intelligence Agency) agents arrested Amandeep with 20 grams of heroin and a 32-caliber pistol with a magazine and 17 live rounds. Later, police seized another 80 grams of heroin based on information given by Amandeep during interrogation. Amandeep revealed the name of his accomplice, Gurpreet, who was later arrested during a raid and seized a pistol from him. Ludhiana Police Commissioner Mandeep Singh Sidhu said the police recovered 100 grams of heroin, Rs. 77 lakh in drug money, three pistols of 32-caliber, 17 live rounds with magazines, and a Verna car from Romi Police officials. Amandeep Singh Romi has five cases registered against him, and police are probing the source of the arms and the purpose for their need.
