1 Kolkata tourist dead, 2 missing in Mandarmani
A young tourist from Kolkata drowned and two of his friends are missing after being swept away by turbulent tides at Mandarmani beach. Two other friends were rescued by fishermen. The group had ignored warnings and entered the water during high tide. The incident occurred despite police cordoning off the beach and issuing warnings. The tourists had arrived in Mandarmani the previous day and had attempted to enter the water but were stopped by locals. It is claimed that the group was drunk at the time of the incident.
