1,000 accidents, 106 deaths in 7 months since Samruddhi Expressway opened
Over a hundred individuals have died in more than 1,000 accidents since 600km of the 700km Samruddhi Expressway was commissioned in December last year. This is an unusually high number, given the timespan, for a superhighway. What is going wrong? Are the accidents solely the result of human error? Or, could design and road surface be issues too? Are the tyres being used suitable for high speed? Are they being filled scientifically?
